The Mod Advisor team is extremely proud of this achievement.
SOC 2 stands for Service Organization Control Type II and was developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts (AICPA). A SOC 2 is a standard based on security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. A third-party makes sure the service organization has proper policies and security in place to handle customer data.
The cost and time associated with pursuing a SOC 2 can pose a daunting challenge for fast-growing startups like us. The list of requirements is different for every company, so it’s not something you can prep for. In addition, claiming that your company does something doesn’t check anything off the list, there must be hard copy proof. The process is time-consuming, but worth it to make sure policies, procedures, and operational controls are followed.
